Want to add a little joy to your lunch hour?

Picture it:

12pm hits — it’s lunchtime! You’ve had a long morning at work, your back aches, your brain feels fuzzy, and you’re running low on energy.

You know you should find something energizing to do with your lunch break. Something that fires you up, that de-stresses you, that brings you joy.

Buuuutt, you’re pretty sure you’re going to do what you’ve done every other day this week: grab a sandwich at your desk and either work right through or doomscroll Twitter for the next 60 minutes.

If that sounds oh-so-familiar, I’d love to invite you to switch things up this Wednesday by spending your precious lunchbreak de-stressing in the most joyous way possible…singing!

Introducing Pop PDX: your weekly lunchtime energy boost (even if you think you can’t sing).

By now, I’m sure you know my philosophy: EVERYONE can sing.

Because singing isn’t about hitting the right notes 100% of the time. It isn’t about wowing people with your awesome innate talent. It most definitely isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about joy. It’s about having a good time. It’s about uncovering the music within.

And Dan Cooper agrees with me 100%.

If you haven’t been lucky enough to have sung with Dan before here’s what you need to know about him:

He’s an absolute sensation with 15 years of experience working in the music industry. He’s worked as a vocal coach for countless pop performers including signed artists; Donel & George Cosby and has worked on TV programmes including Little Mix, The Search, Virgin Media's V Festival & The Voice UK. Dan’s choir; Love Soul Choir performed to 64,000 people over two nights when they performed with Take That (and Lulu) during their stadium tour.

And he’s my Pop PDX leader!

Every Wednesday at 12 noon, Dan will introduce you to a new song. Some you might be familiar with, others will be a wonderful new discovery, but either way, you’ll love the fun lyrics and the uplifting message of the pieces Dan chooses for the group.

And it’s all done online so absolutely anyone can join in and inject a little (or a lot!) of joy into their lunch break.

Here’s how it works:

Buoyed by the confidence of the practice track, you sing and record online and then Dan (with his music production tech genius) takes the individual recordings and turns them into a virtual choir — so you still get to hear the group sound.

The best bit? Because you’re singing with a backing track, you sound great — every time. It’s a “can’t go wrong” kind of deal!

Dan and I have some grand plans brewing for when COVID is behind us: we’re dreaming of prepping singers online for a pop concert and having Dan perform with us in person, right here in Portland.

But in the meantime, we’d love for you to join Dan for Pop PDX for an hour of music, energy, and FUN. I guarantee you’ll skip through your afternoon meetings with a smile on your face and a spring in your step after every session!

Join the next Pop PDX session.

Marion.
